The Arena of Man: 12 Days of Christmas Traditions
begins today with Day 1:

Christmas Decorations.

Over the next 12 days, we’ll be sharing ways in which you can step into the arena of your family and create lasting Christmas traditions that will make this your best Christmas ever. You’re probably wondering, “what do Christmas traditions have to do with being my best as a man?” I’m glad you asked.

This time of year provides the perfect opportunity for you to invest in the lives of your family and create meaningful traditions that will not only create lasting memories, but can focus your family on what’s truly meaningful. Yes, these encouragements are mainly for those of you who are married and have kids, but don’t miss the opportunity to create some incredible memories during this time of year by stepping into the arena of your family.

Some men place the entire burden of decorating the house on their wife. Instead, the encouragement for today is to release your inner “Clark Griswold.” You don’t have to go crazy, but look for opportunities to serve your wife and family by taking an active role in decoratIng the house for the Christmas season.

This means resisting the release of that string of expletives as you carry the 15th box of decorations down the attic ladder. Get creative. Your kids will love it. Invite them into the process. Ask them for ideas. Let them help you. Don’t be afraid of a little “exterior illumination.” We’re not talking about “25,000 twinkle lights” but surely you can throw a few strings of lights on the bushes out front.

No matter the level of your decorating, whether it’s a Christmas tree alone or you go all out. Don’t miss this opportunity to love your family well by creating a fun environment to celebrate the season.

Comment below and let me know what you have planned for this year.

In the arena with you,

Andy
